Do > RELAX, this will not be the worst thing of your life, you should prepare for it to be slightly uncomfortable but being relaxed during your appointment will make it that much easier, promise.
> Let your beauty specialist know if you are on any medications that can thin your skin (Retin-A, Accutane, etc.) It can potentially make the wax remove your skin along with the hair causing scarring. > Let your hair grow out at least a quarter of an inch in order for the wax to be able to grab on to your hair. > Exfoliate the day before your appointment (not the day of) > Feel free to express to your beauty specialist that this is your first wax and you are nervous, we are here to make you comfortable and excited to come back. > Let your beauty specialist know of anything they should be aware of before your service begins (piercings, a tampon, new tattoos etc.) > Exfoliate every other day between waxes to prevent ingrown hairs. (Our Deck Scrub is AMAZING) > Let your beauty specialists know of any skin concerns you are having between waxes (ingrown hairs, dry skin, irritation etc.) we most likely have a solution. > Feel free to take an ibuprofen an hour before your appointment. (Some people feel it helps the pain a little) > Keep up with your waxing services in order to keep your hair growth on track and to help reduce hair growth (4-5 weeks is recommended) |
Do Not> Do not be embarrassed to come get waxed, this is a professional and safe space, we are here to make you comfortable.
> Do not shave or trim before your appointment, it is our job to remove your hair, no hair is too long. > Do not go swimming any sooner than 24 hours after your wax, your pores are open and it could allow bacteria in causing irritation. > Do not work out any sooner than 24 hours after your wax, it will cause sweat to get into your pores. > Do not go tanning for 24-48 hours before OR after your waxing service. > Do not use body washes/ lotions with fragrances in them on the area where you were waxed for about 24 hours in order to prevent irritation. >Do not shave or tweeze between your appointments, for the first few waxes your hair is trying to get together on one pattern and shaving/tweezing will interrupt that. > Do not try waxing yourself at home, it can cause irritation, ingrown hairs, bruising of your skin, tearing of your skin and a lot of other unwanted outcomes. |
